New House

We bought a new house in the same community we lived in before and we moved in on March 23rd! I am so excited. I love this house and the floor plan. A big thanks goes out to Shelley, my stepmom, for helping us move (which she volunteered for) and my mama for watching BOTH of my kids all day long! Moving went pretty well despite the movers being 4 hours late. We moved all the toys and stuff that couldn't really be packed in a box and the movers moved all the big stuff and boxes. We are pretty much settled in now and just need to buy a few more things to fill up all the space.

So far we have 2 areas that have turned into playrooms and toys in each of the boys rooms. I feel like toys are taking over my house. Hopefully it won't be much longer until we can keep toys in the right places. We also have a basement and pool in this house. Vaf is in the process of turing the basement into a game room (man cave). Not exactly what I had in mind but he deserves it if he wants it. We have been swimming already too. The weather is perfect for the pool right now.

So, we have been in our new home for about a month and I love it so much. I was sad to leave our old house at first because that is where we brought our babies home, but now I can't wait to make some wonderful family memories here! Love to all!!!

Legoland!!!

My mom and Bob took us to Legoland at the end of March. Naison, Tatum, and Anthony had so much fun. I think Kian kind of liked it too but he was in the stroller most of the time.
So, we started out our vacation with a road trip to CA. Vafa and Papa were in charge of driving.

The kids did great on the way there. We took turns with Kian in the car since he needed to be constantly entertained. Nais watched some movies and ate snacks. When we got there, Vaf took the kids down to the beach.

The next day we headed to Legoland. Nais could ride most of the rides and Tatum and Anth could ride all of them. We rode all morning then stopped for lunch and then rode some more.

The next day we started off at the Sealife aquarium, which was amazing. Kian loved looking at all the creatures. The we headed back to Legoland and found the little kid land, which I have forgotten the name of, and it was the best place ever! Naison had so much fun running around in the town. Kian even got out of the stroller and played for a while.

There was so much to see and do in Legoland and Naison was the perfect age for it. We all had a blast. Thanks mom and Bob for taking us on a great vacation. We love you!!!

1st ER visit!

The dreaded thing happened....Nais got a peanut! This is the scariest thing that has happened since my kids have been alive. Nais has a peanut allergy...4/5 on the allergy scale. We all know it and he knows it too. The problem is is that he doesn't really know what a peanut is so he doesn't know to say no if someone gives him one. Well, one of his friends at stroller strides gave him one and I saw it out of the corner of my eye...I rushed over and grabbed it out of his mouth. I sprinted to my car for the Benadryl and EpiPen (which I now have on my stroller at all times). I didn't know how bad it was going to get.

I gave him some Benadryl and he seemed to be fine for a while. Then he started vomiting everywhere. We rushed home and I took all of his clothes off cause they were nasty and he had hives and was scratching all over and saying ouchie. At that point I noticed his face was swelling up and I knew I had to jab that EpiPen in his leg. Vafa and my friend Stephanie (both on the phone) had to reassure me to give the EpiPen. I know I am a nurse but when it is your kid it's not that easy. So I said, "Nais mom has to give you an owie. I'm really sorry but I have to do it." I jabbed his leg with the EpiPen and off to the ER we went. Vafa met us there and he stayed with Nais so I could come home with Kian.

Nais got some steroids and was monitored for about 6 hours and then got to come home with 5 days of meow steroids. His friend Sam was also down at PCH in the ER at the same time so he actually had a buddy there...and one of our friends named Jeana brought her kids up to visit.

While this was all very scary, it could have turned out much worse. The doctor said the next time it happens it will be much faster so I have to have my EpiPen on me at all times. I have been coaching Nais and he now knows what a peanut is, what it looks like, and that  he is not supposed to eat them. Thank you God that my big boy is OK. I hope we never have to do this again.

Gymnastics

We started Naison in gymnastics on Mondays with a few of his friends. I try every week to get pictures but of course it is impossible because I have to be involved in the class and try to manage Kian strapped in a stroller watching. One morning Vafa was able to come so I got some pictures. He like it so far and is getting much better at following directions. I think this class is good for him...it makes him pay attention and wears him out for naps!

They do all kinds of stretching, jumping, somersaults, and non-stop activities! Poor Kian has to sit in the stroller, eat snacks, and watch. Maybe next year Kian can join.

Robyn and Family visit AZ

Back in March Robyn and Gemma came to visit while Paul had a work thing in AZ. This was the first time that Kirsten, Robyn and my kids were all together. We did lots of cool kids things and even got in a yoga class kid free! There is a guy named Anton, that we went to college with, that is a great yoga instructor out here. Thanks to my mom and grandma for babysitting all of our kids.

The next few days activities included going to stroller strides, the children's museum, a trip to the community pool, (which is super fun for small kiddos), and stoping by a friend from college's yogurt shop...ZenZen Yogurt.

It also happened to be Gemma's birthday while they were here. We all went to the train park to celebrate Gemma's 3 birthday! We rode the train and the carousel and had cupcakes and lunch. Paul and some of his family also got to join us at the train park.

That night we went to Rustlers Roost for a birthday and farewell dinner. The kids enjoyed the cotton candy at the end of the meal and dancing to live music after dinner. We sure miss the Gentile family. I wish they lived closer....Boston is far.

Oh, and of course we took our famous couch picture. (well not really famous, but ever time we are together we take a pic of us 3 on a couch in the same order) Love you Robyn.

Kian is 8 months old...and now 9 months old!

Kian turned 8 months old last month and it's been so long since Iv'e blogged, he's already 9 months old! The time is truly flying by. Kian started crawling at 8 months and hasn't slowed down a bit. He is all over the place.
He finally decided he would drink out something other than my boob so he drinks water and occasionally almond milk from a sippy cup. This has made my life much easier. I can leave him for longer periods of time since he can get milk from someone other than myself. I feel like a new woman.
So...now he is 9 months. Here are the stats from his check up:
23.3 lbs-80%, 30.5 in-97%
Here is what Nais was at 9 months:
21.8 lbs-70%, 28.5 in-55%

I guess Kian is going to be taller than Naison. Kian got 1 tooth about 2 weeks ago and just got a second one a few days ago. He didn't seem to have any issues with teething...maybe a tiny bit whiny but not bad...and that could have been from the strep throat that he got. Oh, did I mention 3 days after his well check we were back at the doctor and poor baby Kian had strep throat. He was on 10 days of antibiotics and is totally back to normal now. Kian is now crawling super fast and pulling up on things and taking some steps while holding on to things. He does not like to sit still for long so it has been hard to get pictures when I want a posed one. He is refusing to eat baby food so he eats whatever we eat. This boy loves to be like his big brother. He follows him and his friends around all the time.
Naison is a very sweet boy these days...he loves to give hugs and kisses to everyone. He has his whiny days too. He does not like to be told no and has been known to not share his toys well. Sometimes he is a little mean to his brother too. He loves to play in the pool and eat popsicles outside lounging on his chair. Naison's favorite thing to do is jump. He jumps off of things, onto things, and even jumps when he walks.
I love, love, love my boys. I don't know what I would do without them. I can't wait to see how they grow up. Kisses to all!

1/2 Marathon Mom!

My friend Shelli and I had been training to run a 1/2 marathon, which is 13.1 miles, and we did it! The race was March 3rd...which means this blog post is really late! My time was 2 hours and 9 minutes. Some of it was uphill so it was challenging but it was also very fun. I also ran a 17K race on March 17 for St Patty's Day. My pace was the same as the 1/2 but it was much harder since I hadn't really run much since the  1/2. So, I guess I can officially call myself a runner. Never thought I would say that.
Our next run is in Vancouver in August and I can't wait!!!
