Lake Tahoe Snow Trip

We just got home from a snowboarding trip to Tahoe that we took Nais on. He did pretty well on the plane rides there and home. I am glad they were short flights though.

The lifts were closed due to wind the first and second days we were there so we took Naison sledding and to play in the snow. At first he was a little unsure of the snow, but after a while he had a pretty good time.

Here are some pictures on the nice day we went snowboarding and the not so nice days. We took Naison to a daycare about 15 minutes away so he could have some playtime too! He has never been to daycare but he loved it so much. He had good days all 3 days we took him!

Other than snowboarding we just did a lot of hanging out and playing with Nais. The place we stayed in had a kids room with toys and a slide, so that was nice to be able to take him to. He gets bored easy these days so we have to have options for him.

Nais also enjoyed the fireplace and kept saying "hot", playing with all the snowboarding gear in our room, and hanging out in his fuzzy foot pj's.

On our last day of snowboarding, there was so much snow and the visibility was so low, I decided it was safer for me to only do a half day so I went and got a massage! We also had to drive in all that snow to pick up Nais...I was a nervous wreck! Thank goodness Vafa is a good driver. Here is a picture of the road we were driving on, Nais bored in the back of the car, and Nais helping us pack up our stuff to head home.

Overall, it was a great trip but I am glad to be home safe and sound. Next trip up...snowboarding this weekend at Big Bear!

Toothbrushes are fun!

Naison finally has teeth that you can actually brush. He has been playing with this toothbrush I got for a few weeks and we finally started to use it. I put the tinniest amount of toothpaste on it and we brush his teeth. He enjoys having his teeth brushed and of course he wants to do it a little himself too! I love his little teeth!

Sick Boy!

Well, we finally have a sick boy. This is the first time I have had to take him to the doctor for a sick visit ever! He spiked a fever Sunday night and he had one off and on for about 3 days. On the 3rd day his fever got to be 103.7 so I decided to take him in. He also has a pretty bad cough and a runny nose. He is a little congested sounding but his breathing is fine so I am not that worried. His fever comes down easy with tylenol and ibuprofen. I figured it wouldn't be anything that was treatable since only viruses are going around, but I just wanted to know for sure.

Here are his sick boy pics...

So, the doctor is pretty sure he has RSV but he did a culture anyways. We will know the results in the morning. For now we will just keep him hydrated and rested and let nature take it's course. He was bound to get sick sooner or later.

My Mary Mann

One of my very best friends passed away this past week. She was an amazing woman, mother, nurse, teacher, wife and friend. I met Mary the very first day I worked at Good Sam Hospital. She was my preceptor, mentor, and dear friend for the past 8 years. I consider myself very luck to have had her in my life.
She was diagnosed with stage 4 adenocarcinoma of the lung about 4 months ago....and never smoked a day in her life. I watched her go from very active and healthy to a patient in the hospital and then on to Hospice. I know she is in a better place right now since she is out of pain but it is still very hard and sad to say the least. I loved that woman so much. She pretty much taught me everything I know. I appreciate everything she has done for me and made sure to let her know that every time I visited her.
She may be gone but her spirit lives in each one of the lives she touched, and let me tell you, there are a lot!

This is a picture of Naison outside of her Hospice room when we went for a visit. I am glad Mary got to see him before she passed. She loved little kiddos.

Her memorial was held today. There were a lot of people there to celebrate her wonderful life. It was a sad day but also a happy day. I miss you so much sweet Mary. I will see you again some day! I love you!

Train Park

We went to the train park last weekend with the Sylvias. Kirsten's pictures are way better than mine but I have a new camera on order...no worries. Great pictures coming right up. I will make my daddy proud.
There was a lot to do at this park....sliding, climbing, train rides, and carousel rides. Here is Naison being lazy and drinking by bending over to the cup. He does this all of the time now.

Here are some pics of the kiddos with the Daddys!

I tried to get a picture of the kids together on the carousel but I didn't get a very good one.

I know all of you non-Arizonans think we are crazy for the winter jackets and hats but it was freezing! Maybe we don't have snow but it was seriously cold!
After the park we went out to lunch and then the ladies and kids went back to my house for naps and play time. The men went to look at new cars...for me! Yay!!!! Hope to have one soon.

15 month check up and some other stuff

We went last week for Naison's 15 month well check and he is doing great. He weighed 26 lbs, 2 oz which is 73% and he was 32 inches tall which is 75%. He is overall very healthy and we have no concerns with him at this time. He is beginning to be picky eater though. He likes to eat crackers, yogurt, and cottage cheese. So, if he will only eat that for a while I guess it's not that bad.

Here he is sitting in a chair in the waiting room. He looks like such a big boy. Of course he never looks at the camera anymore.

We also went to a superbowl party this weekend at my friend Steph's house. Naison and I were just about the only Steelers fans there. Too bad they lost :-(

...and last but not least, we had a baby doctor check up yesterday too! Everything looks great. I heard the baby's heart beat and there are no issues. I scheduled my gender ultrasound for March 1st, so we will just have to wait a little longer to find out. I'm getting excited to know what we are having this time. As long as it's healthy is all we are hoping for.
