Family Pictures

My Dad came over this weekend to take some family pictures. My sister and Anthony came along too so we could get a cousin picture. I know I am blessed to have such a wonderful family with amazing kids...but this body needs some work. I realize this more than ever since I have seen myself in pictures. I know I have to give it some time, but I am very impatient.

Here are the best family pictures:

Here is a pic of me, my sis, and little bro....

...and here are some cousin pics!

Thanks Dad (and Shelley-for helping with kiddos) for the wonderful family pictures!!!

Newborn Photo Shoot

My friend Malia B, from high school, came over and took some newborn pictures of Kian when he was 7 days old. We also got a pretty cute brother shot. Kisn was not cooperating at first...he pooped on her twice and peed on her who knows how may times. After he got nice and worn out, she was able to get some great shots. Naison was not cooperating either...he just wanted to run around and play with all of the cool stuff she brought.
Here are some of the great pictures she took. I am not posting my favorites because they will be on the birth announcement. You will just have to wait to see those. Thanks Malia for the awesome newborn pictures!

Well check-2 weeks

Kian went to the doctor on July 17th for his circumcision and since he was almost 2 weeks old, they did his 2 week well check too. He weighed 7lbs, 12oz so he has almost gained a pound since birth. He was 19.5 inches which means he has grown an inch! The doctor said he is doing great and he will see us at his 1 month check up.
The circumcision went well I guess...I was in the room but I refused to watch. I just sat in the corner and covered my face. I know I am a nurse and have seen lots of blood but it is different when it is your own kid.

The Arrival of Kian William Ghaemmaghami!

So, I went to the doctor on Wednesday, July 6th and I was 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced. I was thinking it could still be days to weeks before I had this baby...well I was wrong! I went into labor that night and was having contractions every hour. That continued into the morning and they just kept getting closer together and stronger. It was starting to hurt really bad so I called Vafa and told him to come and get me...we were going in and hopefully having this baby! That was around noon.
My mom came over and watched Naison for us. So, we headed in and got admitted since I was 5cm and 100% effaced at that point. From that point on my contractions were about 2-4 minutes apart and they hurt bad...so, I got an epidural and life was good. They broke my water when I was 9cm and I had him about 10 minutes after that. I feel really blessed to have had such an easy delivery. I felt totally normal the next day, Kian was doing great, healthy and happy....so, we got to go home! The best part is that I have no activity restrictions so I can go back to exercising anytime!
So, Kian was born 7-7-11 at 6:22pm. He was 6 lbs, 14oz, and was 18.5 in.

Naison is adapting very well to having another baby in the house, except he doesn't know how to use his "inside voice" that well, so he yells a lot. Good thing Kian is a good sleeper! Naison calls him "e-on" or "baby bru-der"...it is so cute! I am so happy to have 2 healthy baby boys in my life...they are a blessing...and Daddy (and my mom and sister) have been helping out A LOT, so it seems to be going great so far. I know my life will only be getting busier since Kian will not be sleeping as much in the near future...hopefully I can keep up with my blogging!

Jake has also been helping out with Naison when he gets off of work at the Boys and Girls Club across the street from my house.
Here are some pics of visitors and his first bath by Daddy!

We have also been to the doctor twice already and they said he looks great. His bilirubin was a little high but it has been checked again and everything is going in the right direction. He weights 7 lbs now...so he is eating great and everything looks good! Wish me luck for at least the next year of my life...it's about to get busy!

Naison's New Room

We recently moved Naison into his new room. I didn't want to wait until the new baby comes because I didn't want Nais to think he was being kicked out of his room. We are going to put Kian in Naison's old room since it is closest to our room.
I wasn't sure how he was going to adjust to the new room but to my surprise he did just fine. I just closed the door to his old room and opened the door to his new room and he loves it. I am keeping him in a crib...at least until he starts to climb out. Then we will turn it into a toddler bed.
The theme is guitars, which he loves to say...he says"gi-ar". It is one of my favorite words he says these days.

4th of July fun!

We had a fun-filled weekend celebrating the 4th of July with friends this year. We went to Kimmie's for a swim party on Sunday. We had a blast of course. Nais was getting pretty brave in the pool...jumping off of the waterfall to daddy!

Here is a picture of all the kids...as best as we could get!

The kids also enjoyed eating pizza, playing outside, dancing, and eating popsicles. Thanks Kim for hosting! Also, thanks to Jake for coming and helping out with the kids.

On the 4th of July we went across the street to Aviano park for our homeowners association annual fireworks display. This year they had a big celebration with food, bounce houses, face painting, music, and balloons! The fireworks were amazing!

This was Naison's first year of actually watching the fireworks...and he loved them! I wasn't sure if the noise would scare him but it didn't bother him at all. Here he is in total awe!

Needless to say, he was exhausted at the end of the night...and he slept until 8am the next morning! Can't wait until next year!

Baby G2 updates

I went last week for a repeat ultrasound, since my amniotic fluid was low, and is was much better. It went from 8.5 to 11 so everything is fine and they are not worried anymore. I also had a regular OB appointment and everything was great there too.
I had another OB appointment today and they checked me and I am 2cm dilated and 70% effaced. Everything is going great and normal...just waiting for signs of labor! Bring them on! I am ready. It could be days to weeks still before I go into labor. Hopefully not though!
Oh..and Baby G2 will be named Kian William Ghaemmaghami! Love to all and hope to meet our new little man very soon.

Recycle Tour

We met up with a few friends for a tour of the recycling plant in North Phoenix. I know it sounds strange, but the kids loved it! Thanks Holly N for inviting us. They got to see all of the trash being sorted and all of the conveyor belts with the different recyclables on them. After that, we went to Peter Piper Pizza for some lunch and play time. I would recommend the tour to anyone with kids! The adults also learned some good info on recycling!
