Texas:Part 1

We took the family to Texas to visit Vafa's family and friends. Our first stop was Houston to visit Vafa's parents, siblings, cousins, and friends. Vafa's brother Victor came to town and stayed the entire time we were there. We had a great trip and hope to visit again very soon!

We went walking in the park one morning...

We had a wonderful dinner at Vafa's sister Valeh and Leo's house...

We went to visit some friends who own an amazing restaurant downtown...

We went to a really yummy Persian restaurant owned by a good friend of the family...

...and we enjoyed playing with grandma and grandpa!!!

Oh...and Naison sat in a highchair for the first time!!!! Next stop...Austin!

Happy Birthday Tatum!

Naison went to his cousin Tatum's birthday party a couple of weeks ago. Tatum is my sister's stepdaughter. Tater turned 6! Naison had so much fun hanging with the family. Oh...and I made the cake but didn't seem to get a good picture of it.

6 months...going by so fast

I can't believe our baby is 6 months old already!!! We had our 6 month check up last week and Nais is doing great! He was 19.2 lbs and 26.75 inches. He is in the 75% for everything. He did get a couple shots but only cried for a few seconds. He was drooling quite a bit and the doctor said he could see 2 teeth coming in but we haven't seen them yet. So, we are very lucky that he is happy and healthy.

This is Naison sitting at the doctor's office

We also went and got our 6 month pictures taken. There are a lot of bad ones because he got totally freaked out but she managed to get a few good ones.

Here are some of the good pics.....

...and some of the bad.

I think I am officially going to say, "I am caught up on what I was going to blog for Naison's first 6 months". I'm sure there will be lots more to come as he gets older and does more. Thanks for looking!

Videos...finally

Here are a couple of videos of Naison that we have taken so far. They are taken with our iPhones so the quality is not great...but don't worry I now have a flip and will be able to take much better quality videos for your viewing pleasure.

This is Naison waking up in the morning with a smile! (Taken Feb. 24th)

This one is of Naison laughing...daddy makes him laugh out loud. (Taken April 29th)

I do have more videos but I don't think I should post for various reasons: my voice is crazy, there are inappropriate body parts showing, and mom or dad has inappropriate clothing on. I will make sure to take videos I am able to post in the future. ;-) Enjoy!

This is what I can do...

I will get you caught up quickly on what Naison has accomplished. He started sleeping about 8 hours at night at the end of December. Since then he has only gotten better. He sleeps 10-11 hours now at night with an occasional wake up around 3:30 or 5am but then goes back to sleep. He started holding his head up at the beginning of February. He started to kind of roll over at the beginning of April but has not had much interest in that.

Nais started to sit up at the end of April.

He started to eat cereal at the beginning of March. Now he eats cereal, veggies, and fruit. Of course, he like fruit the best.

Nais went swimming for the first time March 30th! He has been several times since and seems to love it.

That's all for now. I will keep you posted on when he can do other cool things!!!

Mommy goes back to work

I went back to work 1 day a week the first week of February. I love working part time because it gives me some time to be an adult. Naison has a few babysitters that watch him when I work. My mom usually watches him but Shelli G, my sister-Courtney, Grandmother, and Grandma Shelley also help watch him. Thanks to you all!

Naison travels around the US

So, let me catch you up on the trips we have been on since Naison has been around. Our first trip was to Miami, Florida in January. We went to visit our friends Jalil and Marzieh. The weather was not warm and sunny like it usually is but we still had so much fun.
Our next adventure was to the cabin in Pine, AZ with the Sylvias. We took the entire crew: babies and dogs. Naison saw snow for the first time and even went on a sled with mom.
Our next trip was to Park City, UT in March with some of the Ghaemmaghami family on a snowboarding trip. Mama Shahnaz came so she could watch baby Naison while we went snowboarding. Vafa's sister Valeh and her husband Leo came as well as Vafa's brother Victor. I was so excited to get a trip in this year. The snow was amazing.

The last trip so far was to Arkansas to visit Nana and Beba. Baby Naison and I went in April. We had so much fun playing with Aunt B and Great-grand Nana. Naison also got to meet his cousins Alana and Katie and her man Justin. We also went to dinner at the Dunn's and met some more family. Naison has done great on all of the plane rides so far. We are going to Texas in a couple of weeks so I hope he stays still and quiet.

Welcome to the world baby Naison

So our baby boy, Naison Boyd Ghaemmaghami, was born on November 2, 2009 and weighed 7lbs and 12oz and was 19 inches long. He had a head full of dark brown hair and brown eyes. Oh, the name Naison is Persian which is what my husband is. So, our son has great skin. He gets tan really easy. We also have 2 wonderful dogs, Ricky Jones, a boxer, and Max, a lab/greyhound mix. Ricky is very laid back and Max is super hyper. As it stands I
am completely out numbered by males in this household.
During our first month home we had lots of in town and out of town guests. Vafa's big sister Venous and her husband live her in Phoenix with their 3 kids, so they came to visit. My mom, stepdad, and grandma, dad, stepmom, and little bro, and sister, husband, and 3 kids all live here in town too. So, Naison had lots of family to meet.
Vafa's dad was the first out of town guest. Then his little sister and her husband came, then my grandma and aunt from Arkansas, then Vafa's mom, and finally Vafa's little bro, Victor and his girlfriend Neda came to see baby Naison. It was a busy time here at the Ghaemmaghami household.
Since I'm trying to blog about 6 months of time and accomplishments it might take me a little while but I will do it. Thanks to Robyn and Kirsten for helping and encouraging me to make a blog. Next I will post about trips that we have taken and milestones.
